@nickportugal95 sound is basically caused by particles in the air hitting each other. there is, technically, sound in space because it isn't a perfect vacuum. there would be no sound in a vacuum because there are no particles to hit one another. However, there in practice isn't sound in space because one particle could have to travel 500 miles before hitting another one
